Entry Forms
The race format for Mattaponi Madness will consist of a course measuring 1000’ with a 100’ staging and approach area before the starting line. This area will consist of 3 buoys and then the starting platform. The actual starting line will be located between the last marked buoy and the starting platform.

Starting Procedure
1. All Boats:
When the lights change from red to solid yellow, boats may leave the holding rope and approach the first pairing buoy. As they get close to the first marked buoy, the yellow light will begin blinking and boats must return to an idle and pair up with their competition. Boats will continue to idle to the second pairing buoy.
2. A. Inboards:
The lights will go solid yellow, and both boats will come up on plane and pair up to the third buoy. Use only enough speed to keep the boat on plane and paired-up with your competition.
2 B. Outboards :
The lights will go solid yellow, and both boats will continue to idle and pair-up to the third buoy.
3. All boats:
Remain paired-up, and between the third buoy and the starting platform you will be given a green light to GO.

Note:
If you do not see the green light, slow to idle speed and approach the starting platform for instructions. If any driver starts running the course on the yellow light, it will be considered a disqualification, the same as running a red light, even if the other racer continues to run the course. A flashing yellow light indicates you are approaching too fast
